Lord Monckton Gooned at the Bali Climate Conference

January 24, 2008 (LPAC)-- On Jan. 23, Lord Christopher Monckton, former advisor to British Prime Minister Thatcher in the 1980's, told EIR that he and a group of climate skeptics were gooned at the Bali climate conference held in early December by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), the parent organization of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). Monckton said that any time they approached the conference center the UN goons would be there to escort them away, and the goons went as far as to try and break up their meeting, using tricks like changing the room number at the last moment. Monckton said that the UNFCCC is desperate to maintain their Fascist agenda.

Monckton said that his group had been able to distribute to all the heads of the parties involved in the conference a two page flyer that outlined how the IPCC figures on climate forgings were off by a factor of three. In response to the flyer, the head of the IPCC Rajendra Pachauri called an emergency meeting of all the scientists at the conference to formulate an answer to the flyer. According to Monckton the meeting lasted about an hour, but the assembled group found that silence was the best answer. Monckton also noted that this emergency meeting delayed Al Gore's grand presentation by an hour. He pointed out that if a two page flyer pointing out a big problem in the IPCC report caused such an uproar, than the IPCC and Al Gore are really worried about the house of cards they have built.
