Ron Paul Exposes the Cheney Fascists in Republican Presidential Debate
May 16 (EIRNS)--Republican Presidential candidates disgraced themselves as Cheney-style fascists, in the May 15 debate in Columbia, South Carolina, with the exception of Texas Congressman Ron Paul . Rep. Paul (R-Texas) ripped into the war insanity, saying;
"we need the courage of a Ronald Reagan" to pull U.S. troops out of Iraq. He said the U.S. is under attack "because we've been over there. We've been bombing Iraq for 10 years."
Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani was wildly applauded for attacking Ron Paul's remarks as absurd, but Paul stood his ground. Paul told the crowd that the Central Intelligence Agency rightfully taught about "blow-back" and he said we cannot simply "do what we want around the world" without causing hatred and bad consequences.
Both Giuliani and Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney supported torture.
The moderator asked "frontrunner" Giuliani if he would support the use of waterboarding torture in interrogation of U.S. prisoners.
"Whatever they can think of," Giuliani replied.
Romney said he supports the use of "enhanced interrogation techniques," and said we ought to "double" the number of prisoners at the Guantanamo facility.
